Welcome!

Yodals!  Welcome to my web page and thank you for visiting!

My new head shot is up and my updated film demo reel will be posted soon.

A couple of big things are happening right now. I’m waiting to hear back from the colleges to which I applied. I’ll know soon where I’ll be studying and living this September.

In a few weeks I’ll head to Waterbury, Connecticut to be a Resident Teaching Artist Intern with Shakesperience Productions, Inc.  We’ll be bringing live theatre to kids of all ages. One of the shows is “Macbeth” ~ my favorite Shakespeare play!

In the fall, I took a break from Shakespeare to study Chekhov at Primary Stages/ESPA with John Gould Rubin and it was an amazing class!  I was also behind the scenes working as the Assistant Stage Manager for “The Little Dancer” which was presented at Theatre 71 on the Upper West Side. It’s a  gorgeous family-friendly production about the inspiration for Degas’s famous statue of the little ballerina.

Last spring, I played the title role in “Maggie” which we shot in the woods in beautiful Burlington,  Vermont.  My character is a young servant girl in a medieval setting who helps an outlaw avoid execution.  I got to use my stage combat training and did some sword fighting! The film is in post-production and I’m looking forward to the final version.

I’m also waiting to find out how “Buni” did in the film festival circuit.    It’s a short film that explores the relationships between my mom, her mother, and me, and how three generations regard the “old country” of Bulgaria.

“Sugar Skull Girls,” directed by Christian Grillo and produced by Potent Media, is available on Amazon Prime.  From the IMdB page:  “Three demonic sisters who resemble neo-goth voodoo dolls are accidentally conjured from the other side during a failed attempt to raise a little girl from the dead.  With impeccable fashion sense and teen aged angst, the Sugar Skull Girls will stop at nothing to escape the clutches of The Pale Witch, the ruler of The Shadow world.”  I play Mindy, the quirky, dorky girl who gets bullied.

That’s all for now!

Peace out ~

Moriah
